When the Law School IT team faced the challenge of improving the accessibility of dozens of custom applications, Kevin Ross and developers Callie Masten, Rich Savitski, and Travis Frasier knew success would require more than fixing code. It would take a thoughtful plan.
The team inventoried every application they owned, prioritized systems based on audience, usage, and risk, and developed a structured review process to identify and remediate accessibility barriers. They paired manual testing with accessibility tools, leveraged AI to accelerate code updates and documentation, and carefully tracked improvements throughout the project. By standardizing their approach and focusing first on their highest-impact applications, they made meaningful progress on an ambitious timeline.
Today, the Law School's highest-priority applications are more accessible, more usable, and better positioned for the future. Just as importantly, the team has created a repeatable process that will continue to improve accessibility with every new release.
