Assistive Technology Support

Need assistive or adaptive technology (AT) to do your work at U-M? We offer common AT solutions and support services to make sure you can use the tools you need.

U-M policy requires assistive technology tools for people who need them.

What is Assistive Technology

Digital assistive technology (AT) can include programs, utilities, hardware, and peripherals. AT improves or replaces standard technology to enable access for disabled users. Common examples include screen readers, voice control, and screen magnifiers.

Digital accessibility standards ensure that digital content including websites, documents, and other media are compatible with assistive technologies.
