When it came time to refresh SW 601 in the School of Social Work, Duke Lorr, Learning Experience Designer, saw an opportunity to do more than update content; he rebuilt the course with accessibility at its core.
Designed from the ground up, the refreshed course features custom navigation to make moving through materials intuitive and streamlined. The redesign was sparked by real faculty feedback about difficulty navigating the typical SSW Online course layout. By listening carefully, Duke created a streamlined, accessible experience that supports both instructors developing the course and students engaging with the content.
The result? A fully accessible course experience that works better for faculty and students alike, and a reminder that when we listen, we design smarter.
